I've got several picture books in the making that I am pretty excited about!  The first is called Zombie Zed and it is the closest to completion.

Well, his full name is:

The Deplorable Horrible Timothy Zed!

(Which, he says, is "an honorable name in the zombie community."  I personally wouldn't be too happy if my parents called me horrible or deplorable.)

Anyway, most people just call him Zed.

This is my most recent endeavor.  It is in a very rough rough draft stage, so I will hold off on sharing the actual story YET.  I still have a LOT of astrology & astronomy research to do before my characters are fully developed.  Here's a teaser tho ;-)

Castor Morgan and Polly Durkins have never met (in fact, they live 1,400miles apart), but they are about to realize a deep connection that might help them save their families and, well... the entire world.  Sharing a unique birthmark and bizarre, unexplainable past, Castor and Polly must work together, not only to fight the evil forces threatening earth, but also to discover an exceptional truth about themselves.  As their seemingly normal lives inevitably collide with eachother and the mysteries of the heavens, they experience a journey that is one of unity, contrast, growth, and friendship.

Oh I am terrible!  This story I started two, count 'em TWO, years ago.  The plot, characters, setting... everything... is still in my head, so I refuse to give this one up either.  A few of the details are written on a notepad somewhere, but that is a minor obstacle because I am determined to someday complete this story.

the cliff hanger project

About a year ago, I started working on a story with the extremely brilliant and talented Brandon Bond (don't tell him I said that... it might go to his head).  It has been a while since we worked on it... my bad LOL... but we have not officially given up! =) In fact! a few ideas I had while working on this project have inspired another of my stories (Gemini) which I hope to tie back to this one.


The story is created in turns.  Brandon started the story as an email to me.  I then continued the story in response to his email.  And so on.  It is unique in that Brandon and I do not share our ideas about the future of the story with each other and are forced to continuously adapt to what the other person writes.

This was my first attempt at making a picture book.  The idea for the story came from one of lil'BER's many adorable quotes:

"I'm actually mean, and I'm actually crazy." 

as well as him referring to 'bubbles' as 'bubble juice.'
